July 2015 Religious Ed. Newsletter

Happy Fourth of July.  I want to thank all of you who participate in or volunteered for Totus Tuus.  We had a small but might crowd with the 1st-6th grade students and a very dedicated group from the youth.  I want to thank the following specifically:  Knights of Columbus for their breakfast and donation.   The Detmer's and Sweet's for hosting the team.  The Stegman's, Bowman's, Temanson's, Kiley's, and the Teen Center for hosting the team for dinner or allowing us to use the facility for our youth night.  The following helped feed the team for lunch: Donna Huff, Rhonda Westerhaus, Julie Fields, Amanda Vandervoort, Trevlyn Detmer, and Jill Hodgkinson.    If I have missed anyone then I apologize.

Prayer in Action:  It is not too late to sign up for Prayer in Action, a Mission trip with fun and games.  The next weeks are July 5-10 in St. John and July 26-31 in Ness City.  Go the dcdiocese.org/prayer-and-action for more information.

Calling all Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, we are having Teens Encounter Christ in Pratt the weekend of July 11-13th in Garden City.

Adult Education:  Wednesday nights at 7:30pm in Lemon Park, Stephanie Becker will be leading a group is walking with the scriptures.  This is chance to pray together, study scripture, and then walk together while sharing.  Thursdays at 6pm we will be studying how the Mass comes from scriptures with the series, A Biblical Walk through the Mass.  All are welcome.  We will meet in the upstairs of the offices.

I will be looking for catechists for the fall starting in August.  Please pray for the Spirit to speak to those who are called to be catechists.  Also if you have an interesting faith story to share with our youth, let me know so I can talk with you about.  We would like the students to meet some of our parish members and hear your stories.  A change this year is that the High School class will meet on Sunday evenings and not Wednesday night.  This will allow us more time and space for the students.

God Bless.  Erin Crouch, DRE
