June 2015 Religious Ed Newsletter

Calling all 1st-12th graders for next year, Totus Tuus is coming to Pratt June 14-19th.  The 1st-6th graders will have sessions Monday-Friday from 9am-3:30pm and all 7th grade and older will meet from 7:30pm-9:45pm Sunday-Thursday that week.  I mailed out enrollment forms in the first part of May.  The cost is $10 per student.    I am also still looking for some volunteers to help with lunches for the Totus Tuus team and also to host them for a few meals.  Please let Erin know if you can help. This does occur during the 2nd week of the Theatre Camp at PCC.  Your student is welcome to come during the morning and then attend the camp.  Even part of a day is a good thing.

Calling all Sophomores and older to Teens Encounter Christ (TEC). We have one TEC weekend this summer.  It is July 11-13th in Garden City.  This can be a very spiritual weekend and it will be right here in our parish. You can sign up on the diocese's website at www.dcdiocese.org/youth

All 8th graders to graduated seniors are welcome to join the Prayer in Action mission trips available in our diocese.  There will be three weeks of Prayer and Action:  June 14-19 (Garden City); July 5-10 (Saint John); July 26-31(Ness City). Prayer in Action provides meaningful opportunities to high school aged students and their adult leaders to do mission work right here within the boundaries of our own diocese.  Prayer and Action sessions last five days, with students arriving on a Sunday evening and then staying until the next Friday morning.  Throughout the week the students will paint, clean, do yard work, and perform other meaningful tasks, for the poor, handicapped, and the elderly. The fee for each participant (youth and adult) is $100.00 for the week. For sign up and more information go to the Dodge City Diocese Prayer and Action Page: http://www.dcdiocese.org/prayer-and-action.  Please let me know if you sign up.   IStephanie Becker would be willing to take students to the Ness City event.  And Erin can take students to the St. John event.

Adult Education: Starting June 25th, We will have an Adult Education event for about 6 weeks.  We will study how the Mass is tied to the Bible using A Biblical Walk Through the Mass.  We will meet at 6pm on Thursdays in the Parish offices upstairs.  Let Erin know if you are interested so she can order books for you.
Also Stephanie Becker is interested in getting a Walking Bible study together.  You would meet at the park, go over the readings for the next week and then share about the readings as you walk around the park for some great exercise.   Let Erin or Stephanie know if you are interested.  It would begin after Totus Tuus.

Have a safe and wonderful summer.   Erin Crouch, DRE
