July 2014 Rel. Ed. Newsletter

Happy Fourth of July.  I want to remind you that Totus Tuus is coming to Pratt July 6-11th.  The 1st-6th graders will have sessions Monday-Friday from 9am-3:30pm and all 7th grade and older will meet from 7:30pm-9:45pm Sunday-Thursday that week.  You can get enrollment forms in the office.  We welcome any student on any day.  So even if you can't make it the whole week, then come part of the week.  The cost is $10 per student.    July 6th after Sunday Mass at the KofC Hall we will have a free will offering breakfast hosted by the Knights of Columbus to meet and greet with the Totus Tuus team.

Calling all Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, we are having Teens Encounter Christ in Pratt the weekend of July 19-21st.  This will be a great weekend here in Pratt, especially before the August business rolls around.

Adult Education:  Tuesday nights at 7pm in the parish offices, we will be watching the Bible mini-series released in 2013.  It is a narrative of the Bible put on television.  We will discuss how the stories are different from or similar to our Catholic understanding.  This is a come and go with no books or required literature, just come when you can.

All catechists or educators:  The Catechize Kansas Conference will be in Wichita the evening of Friday July 25th and all day Saturday the 26th.  The church can help with the cost of attending and we can carpool to go over for just the Saturday session.  This is a good way to expand your knowledge and become a better teacher and person of faith.

I will be looking for catechists for the fall starting in August.  Please pray for the Spirit to speak to those who are called to be catechists.  Also if you have an interesting faith story to share with our youth, let me know so I can talk with you about.  We would like the students to meet some of our parish members and hear your stories.

God Bless.
