Hello and welcome to Summer.  Our big event in June is Totus Tuus. The week of June 22nd-28th we are bringing in a team of young adults to work with our children and youth. The team is from the Totus Tuus (totally yours) summer youth program from the diocese of Wichita. The team will consist of 2 men and 2 women to teach our 1st to 6th graders for 2013/14 during the day from 9am-3pm Monday through Friday. The 7th-12th grade students meet from 7:30-9:45PM Sunday through Thursday evening. The curriculum this year is based on the Sacraments and also to Joyful mysteries. Oh and lots of fun too. We are plannig a pool party for the youth and Friday afternoon for the children will be fun and games too. The cost is $10 per student (both child or youth). I am also in need of volunteers to work during the day with the children's program. You will not teach but just be another adult in the room for safe environment. You need to complete or have completed the PGC session and also a background check. Please let me know if you can help even for party of a day. I will also need volunteers to bring food for the team. Each student for the Grade Program will need to bring a sack lunch everyday but Friday. They will also need to bring on snack to share. Please make it healthy. We will ask them to bring food for Friday’s fun lunch time. We will send home notes. Registrations were mailed out the week before Memorial Day.  There are more registrations on the website and also in the parish office.  The deadline is June 15th but we can take up to the day of as well.
We will have a potluck dinner on Saturday night June 22nd after Mass for the all the parish to meet the team. Then Sunday morning June 23rd, the Knights of Columbus are hosting a freewill offering breakfast with the Totus Tuus team after Sunday Mass.

Stewardship Council Meeting Minutes May 10, 2013 The Stewardship Council met at the Home of Ed and Sharon Barrett at 7:00 pm on May 10. 2013. Members present were Ed and Sharon Barrett, David Borho, Blake and Chris Himmelwright, Father McKinney and Jerry and Jeanette Siemens. Father opened the meeting with prayer. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as written. Old Business, Jeanette said that the ‘Attitude’ slips were still coming in. She will type them and send them to Chris who will post them. The idea behind continuing this is to keep the focus on stewardship and raise the awareness in the parish. The speakers the previous week were Vicky Rush and Vince Wilczek. Chris will send a thank you note to both. David and Jeanette are going to speak on the weekend of May 18, 19 on behalf of the Stewardship Council. Chris will get speakers for the weekend of May 25, 26 from Liturgy Commission. Father mentioned that the recent Southwest Kansas Register had some good information from the Bishop on stewardship. “State of the Church” Jerry reported that Home Lumber had been contacted and that we need approximately 612 yards of carpet or carpet tiles at an estimated cost of $25,000. Chris reported that Bob Piland had looked at the pews to recover and estimated a cost of $25,000 to $30,000. The project would take 3 to 4 weeks and he would do the work in the church one quarter section at a time. Glenna is looking into refinishing the wood in the pews. Father will convey this information to Pastoral Council and Property and Maintenance. New Business; After the last Council/Commission speaker, Ed will wrap up our stewardship appeal with a brief talk at the weekend liturgies. Chris reported that she has the Pizza Hut gift cards ($10.) for servers and cross bearers. She and Sharon will distribute them. The next meeting will be June 23, 2013 at 5:00 pm at the Siemen’s cabin. Everyone is asked to bring a snack . Respectfully submitted by, Chris HImmelwright
