Finance Council

This council is responsible for overseeing stewardship of treasure, physical plant, and financial policies.

The Sacred Heart Parish Finance Council met on April 12,2012 in the parish rectory.  Members present were :  Don Hommertzheim, Vince Wilzcek, Jennifer Slater, Haley Fitzsimmons and Linda Gfeller.   Lynn Southard, Parish Council representative  and Falther Floyd McKinney were also present.

The March minutes were read and approved.

The financial report was reviewed.  The figures indicate the parish and school are within budget and comparable to the past year.  Vince is continuing to work on this years budget and it should be finalized within the month.

Father McKinney reported on the hiring of a principal for the parish school for the year 2012-2013.  James Wessling will be coming from Iowa with several years of experience as principal of a Catholic school.

Father McKinney asked if the council thought the church should be listed in the yellow book at an expense of $49/month.  Members agreed that this was not necessary as the parish has a website where information can be obtained.

Don Hommertzheim announced he would be leaving at the end of the calendar year, no longer serving on the finance council.  His dedication to the council has been much appreciated.  Several names were mentioned as possible replacements.  Father will also review the stewardship surveys for indications of parishioners that might have noted an indication of interest in serving on the council.

The Vision Building Committee has met and is looking at talking with architects for new ideas as to what direction the parish should proceed with the information they have obtained over the past year.
