Adult Education

The Adult DVD series on Catholicism will be canceled the night of March 20^th due to Spring Break. We will also continue our Bible Study series for Adults on Thursday nights from 6:30-8:00pm. The book club will continue but at 1:30PM instead of 2PM on Sundays to give more time for discussion on all Sunday's in March except the 3^rd due to Confirmation and also Easter weekend. We have two Lazy Lenten Learnings in March at 3PM on Sunday March 10^th and March 24^th. The March 10^th topic is on Mixed Faith Marriages. We have Colleen Newman from Great Bend coming to share her life in a Mixed Faith Marriage. I invite all parish members with similar marriages to come share and support each other. Then our March 24^th topic will be on Same Sex Attraction by Chuck Weber. Chuck is a film producer from Wichita who is filming a series for EWTN on the Catholic groups Courage and EnCourage, which are support groups for those with same sex attraction and also their families. So please plan to attend some of the adult education opportunities to make this a great Lent.

Adult Education:   The Catholicism DVD will continue to be offered at 7PM on Wed. in the school conference room if anyone wants to attend.  The Bible Salvation Timeline study is still going on on Thursdays at 6:30PM at the home of Ken and Jackie Woodruff.  Call the church for details.  During Lent we will have a free book for people to read, Rediscover Catholicism by Matthew Kelly.  The book is a great read that will help you to reconnect to your faith.  I will put study questions up on the website each week for people to consider as they read the book.  And those who want to share in a discussion can come at 2PM on Sundays during Lent (except March 3rd) to the rectory upstairs room and share their thoughts.  Books will be handed out on Feb. 2nd and 3rd during Masses.   Then also during Lent we will offer some sessions of our Lazy Lenten Learning.  Our first session will be Feb. 24th, Sunday at 3PM in the rectory upstairs.  Sister Janice Grochowsky will lead the discussion on Annulments and what they are.  This is an informal session of about an hour of learning and sharing.  Please consider one or more of these options to expand you faith during this Year of Faith.

Adult Religious Education:  The Adult Catholicism DVD session will resume in January on 9th in the school conference room.  Please watch the bulletin or website for changes on this or contact Patrice Egging for specifics.  The Adult Bible study will resume on Jan. 3rd at 6:30PM at the home of Ken and Jackie Woodruff.  We welcome people to drop in, it is an amazing learning tool.

Catechists are invited to attend one of two Interactive Television presentation on "Marriage and Family:  The Call to Love and Life". The two classes are the same and are offered on Wed. January 9th from 6-9PM with a light meal provided or on Saturday Jan. 12th from 9AM-12PM.  The ITV room is located in the church basement and you enter off the alley behind the church.  There will be no PSR on that Wed. the 9th.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  December is here and Christmas will be here soon.   This month the youth will be selling Discount cards for $20 each.  We make $10 per card profit to go towards our trip to NCYC next year.  We have 300 cards to sell.  The card has different discounts to different businesses here in Pratt.  We will be selling these after Masses on a couple of weekends in December.  You can also purchase them by contacting Erin through the parish office or if you know one of the youth going to NCYC, ask them.  We appreciate your help with this fund raiser.
All are invited to Mass on Dec. 5th and Jan 16th during PSR class. Mass will begin around 7:10PM to give time for the classes to get organized before coming to the church. 

Adult Education:  Just a reminder that the Catholicism DVD series is still going on during PSR on nights we don't have Mass in the school conference room.  You can come and attend anytime.  Also the Bible study is meeting at 6:30PM on Thursday nights at the home of Ken and Jackie Woodruff.  I invite you the consider this even if we have already started.

Adult Education
The 24 week Bible study started meeting on Oct 25th at 7PM in the Rectory.  If you are still interested in this study please let me know. 
On Nov. 7th at 7PM (during PSR) in the school conference room, Patrice Egging will be leading the Catholicism DVD series by Father Robert Barron.  You will watch the DVD and discuss it.  No books are required and it is during PSR.  So parents this is a great opportunity to learn while your students are in PSR.  I invite you to attend.
